Grain Elevator Automation Re-Control
The ChallengeThe main grain elevator's scale indicator was failing and the facility was running on manual controls. They wanted to streamline operation and improve sequencing and safety across their process.
Our ApproachBlacktail re-controlled the facility with a modern PLC and a custom-built touchscreen HMI, tying bins, legs, drags, fans, and pumps into one clear interface.
The ResultThe entire elevator system now runs from a single interface — with new safety and sequencing features, plus troubleshooting and live process-feedback the old controls never had.
The ChallengeThe facility's existing water system was failing — a leaking water sump and failing pumps made cooling unreliable and full of unknowns.
Our ApproachBuilt and plumbed a new pump and tank system, then integrated PLC and HMI control for live monitoring of levels, temperatures, and pressures.
The ResultRedesigned the sump using external tanks with all-new pumps and controls — eliminating the leaks and the guesswork, with centralized monitoring from one screen.
The ChallengeThe client needed a purpose-built production machine to process material to spec — designed, built, and controlled as a single integrated system.
Our ApproachModeled the full machine in CAD, fabricated the steel frame and conveyor in-house, then built and wired a PLC control panel with an operator HMI and push-button station to run it.
The ResultA complete, ready-to-run machine — mechanical design, fabrication, and automation delivered as one turnkey build.
The ChallengeThe customer couldn't easily source a replacement and needed an upgraded rear suspension upright that no off-the-shelf part could match.
Our ApproachModeled in SolidWorks, then CNC-machined from billet aluminum.
The ResultA complete 3D-modeled part with a full set of machinable drawings, CNC-machined to precise tolerances.

Custom Mixer-Wagon Grain Chute
The ChallengeAn operation needed a custom chute to direct grain flow that wasn't available off the shelf.
Our ApproachLaid out and cut steel plate, fabricated and welded the chute to fit the existing equipment, then finished it for durability.
The ResultA purpose-built chute that bolts right into the operation and handles daily use.

Custom Truck-Bed Topper
The ChallengeThe client needed a rugged truck-bed topper with large side access that simply wasn't available off the shelf.
Our ApproachModeled in CAD, then fabricated from welded steel tube with a lift-assisted gull-wing side panel and sheet panels, finished in durable black.
The ResultA one-off topper built to fit the truck — tough, weather-ready, and easy to load from the side.

Sanctuary Entry Steps & Handrail
The ChallengeA church needed safe, durable entry steps and handrail for a sanctuary side entrance.
Our ApproachDesigned and modeled in CAD, then fabricated in-house from steel — welded stringers, a grated landing, and a durable finished coat — and installed on a new pad.
